Charlotte is Four

And what else could I make for my rocking chick but a fun Anya card? (Seriously, tonight she went out in a jersey dress with a belt, pink leggings, hot pink socks and black tap shoes...she is reliving all the worst parts of the 80s...ha!) I elected to go with the 2S4U sketch and some fun colors (black, cameo coral, cool Caribbean and celery?)...I am sure it will be right up her alley!

Positive note of the day: Looking forward tonight to pizza, cake and some fun time celebrating C's birthday. She has talked of nothing else since the summer...December 1st could not happen fast enough!

LPS Monday...Recycle a Sketch

Today's challenge is to recycle a previous LPS sketch and create a holiday card. There are a lot of ones that I have liked but this one hit my fancy when I was choosing which one to do.

If you're like me, you spend most of December crafting for the holidays. However, once the holidays are over, you realize you have no thank-you cards in your stash! So, while this is still a holiday card (i.e., wintry pastels a la Eskimo Kisses), it is the first of my thank-you cards so I don't get caught short (which I probably will do anyway...sigh!) Should you want to play along, hit up the LPS blog (which includes a chance to win some goodies too)!

LPS Stamps Used: {Topiary} and {I Heart}

Positive note of the day: Made birthday cake and banana bread today without having either stick to the pan! Whoa!

Sketches for a Sunday

Five Minute Card

Another quick card featuring Basic Grey's Lemonade...I gots no time!

Positive note of the day: Knock on wood, I will have all the kids' presents wrapped tonight. Can't have any more accidental peeks because of my poor hiding spots!

Quick Kid Card

I had to make a quick card for my friend's two year old girl with a belated birthday gift. Since I was working with only about twenty minutes spare time, I relied on scrappy elements to get it done in a snap...chipboard, stickers and thickers with a thin coating of stickles just for sparkly fun. Have a happy Saturday!

Positive note of the day: Made these Triple Layer bars yesterday. I am cutting them up and freezing them now before I eat the whole pan. (BTW, these are quick, easy and disappear whenever I put them out for friends!)

Friday Sketches

Basic Grey Calendar Kit

I picked up BG's calendar kit for 2010 with my 50% off coupon...if you are heading to M's tomorrow, I urge you to pick this up! Here's January...

Now I know the subject material has nothing to do with January, but personally, I think this is the best way to deal with winter...long sleeps! And with all that pink surrounding Ave, I knew it would go great with this Euphoria mix. Only 11 more months to go...ha ha!

Positive note of the day: Had a nice dinner out...now if I could stop worrying about the Christmas budget, I'd be golden!

Truly Easy

I was really intrigued by this sketch from the Truly Scrumptious blog. (I tell you, if it wasn't for these sketches lately, I would have even less that the little mojo I do!) Although I elected to go with the standard A2 card, I think I kept the rest in keeping with the sketch. The tree is from the age-old standard "Lovely as a Tree" (SU!), the sentiment is from the Little Paper Shop and the flourish on the DP is from Autumn leaves.

Positive note of the day: Should not have turned on "Cake Boss" earlier...now I am craving a chocolate ganache cake with raspberries. Okay, off to the kitchen!

Baby Happy Hopper

Making more baby cards for my BFF Andrea who is about to pop at any moment! On that, I had remarked to some of my friends, including the Cal-gals, about how much I liked Sue's card (at left...click the image to see the original on her blog) and was looking to get that stamp or one similar (esp. since there would be very little coloring...can't beat that!). Shannon was nice enough to lend me this Happy Hoppers stamp to make some with the same Parisian Breeze DP Sue had used. I combined it with this week's Mojo Monday sketch. (Note: I used "Rich Earth" ink from Technique Tuesday that is brown with a reddish hue...quite striking with left on its own!)

Positive note of the day: Funny little moment yesterday. My Ave likes to roughhouse. One game I play with her is to lay her on the floor, sit over her and then pin her arms. Don't know why she likes it but she giggles lots. Anyway, this isn't a new game but for some reason, the cat got on his hind haunches and patted me on the head a whole bunch yesterday (he has no nails to really inflict any harm) while I was doing this as if to say "Get off her!". I think he likes to protect Ave since she pays so much attention to him (if she is on the floor or in her bumbo, he regularly comes by since he knows that she will play with him [even if that play equates to pulling on his tail or ripping out chunks of hair!]). In the end, I think he was not at all willing to lose his playmate and had to do his best to make me stop...ha ha!
