AFSS10 - Going Buggy?

Well, I was out in my side yard with DH all afternoon (and the kidlets) cleaning it up. During the renovations of this house by a previous owner, they left a ton (not literally...I hope) of broken concrete, bricks and stones which were now overgrown with Chinese lanterns (which I had previously blogged about here). We took out all of the fill, most of the Chinese lanterns (of course, given their root structure, I fear we will never see the end of these!) and spent a lot of time telling the kids to get out of the way (they always wanted to stand right in front of the wheelbarrow...maybe it was an attempt to get a mouthful of dirt?)...

In addition to all that fun, I had many a chat with Tristan about the bugs in our yard. A few days ago it was ladybugs (as they came out of hibernating to sun themselves on our rocks)...today it was earthworms (and why they had to stay in the dirt and that, no, shading them with your hand will not prevent them from getting dried out in the sun). Those experiences fueled this week's Suggestive Sunday theme: bugs! (Note: This theme will not include butterflies just so I can see what you can do with all the millions of other insects out there!)

This is a set of The Angel Company (TAC) stamps that I received as a RAK from Mary. They are super-cute and I have been saving them for this challenge (since I have written up some ideas...however, I always need one to "strike" me before I pick it!). And, as always it seems, I used Basic Grey (Scarlet's Letter)...I am seriously addicted! Anyhoo, should you want to participate in this challenge, please adhere to the following:
  • Create a card and then link to it from this post.
  • Should you elect to upload it to SCS, please use the keyword AFSS10.
  • Get your entries in by 7 PM MST next Sunday and I will draw a winner who will receive some goodies from me!
Last week's winner is Ellie. Please send me your deets (you can find my e-mail on the profile page) so I can send you some stuff to play with!

This is the sweetest bug card (if bugs could be called sweet!) I remember the days I spent with my little guy (now all grown up) showing him all the wonders of bugs!

So cute, I MUST have those stamps. My son is a bug lover, much to my chagrin.

Hi Allison... I played, but I don't know if I qualify... you can check out my creation here I know butterflies are suppose to be excluded, but for this project I had to put one on there, as I was pertaining to caterpillars and their transformation to a butterfly.

Nonetheless, thanks for the challenge... as it was soooo much FUN!!!!

I bet Tristan had an exhilarating time with all those buggies. Cyrus gets all wild about them too.... at least about the cute ones.

Hugs,
Jen
