Want to add your signature automatically?

Do you want to add your signature automatically to all your posts so, if you are like me, you don't have to remember to add it each time? Here's what you gotta do:

1. Do one of the following:
  • Create your signature in a graphics program like Microsoft Paint or Adobe Illustrator.
  • Using My Live Signature, create a signature (most of you have using Katie's tutorial) and save the image to your desktop.
2. Upload the file you created to a web hosting program such as Flickr, webshots, etc. Copy (Ctrl-c) the URL of the image.

3. In Blogger (please adapt for your blog hosting platform), from your dashboard, click Settings > Formatting.

4. In the last field entitled "Post Template", enter the following:

where Signature URL is the URL you previously copied (Ctrl - v to paste here).

5. Click Save Settings.

6. Create a new post to see your signature!

Great post, thanks for teaching us. My problem with this, is that I use blogger, but sometimes I use LiveWriter to post my entries. And then my signature doesn't come up.

Do you happen to a have a fix or workaround for that off the top of your head? :O)

I loved reading all the blogger tips. My signature has a black background for some reason. Do you know how to fix that? I will play with it for a while.
Tnanks.

I guess I am not good at this. I tried but it says my tag was broken? Am I adding or deleting a space?

Thanks for the great tip!!! Question though, blogger automatically outlines my signature as it does each of my photos that I put in. Is there a work-around that you know of? Thank you!

Mine showed up with a box around it also. So then I went back and had the Signature page generate the HTML code instead of uploading it to photobucket or whereever. I used that code on my Formatting blogger page and it worked like a charm! Thanks so much for this info. I'm going to link you on my page so my bloggin' buddies can check it out too!

Thanks & it looks like you can use the Signature page code - I did that also and it worked for me!
Really appreciate you putting up the directions!!

I love it! Thanks for the instructions. Any idea on how to get the background not to be white?

I wanted to say thank you for posting this. I, however, wasn't very successful at getting my signature created, I kept getting a "broken code" error. humf! Anyways, I was able to figure it out, and I posted a blog about how I did it. I gave you credit as to where I started out from, so I thought maybe you'd like to check it out. Have a great day!!!
