About an hour or so after I gave birth to Tristan, I was laying in the bed when the nurse (a quite likable gal), came in to tell me that she was going to help me go to the bathroom soon. In my head, I was like "What? I don't think so." Being an independent woman of thirty years, I was sure I could go to the bathroom on my own.
So, as I was still recovering from my epidural (mere minutes before this I said to DH "Look, my legs are still frozen."), I hauled one leg over the side of the bed and then the other. Foomp! As I put weight on my legs, I fell to the floor. Seeing as I had not been to the bathroom yet, it looked like a sight right out of a nasty moment in CSI (ah, the beauty of gravity).
Needless to say, DH laughed his ass off (he knew full well that I had done this in a moment of pigheadness). The nurses ran in to see what happened. Thankfully, because DH was already laughing and chastising my move, they laughed too (since I am sure they were more like "WTH?").
As they helped me on to a fun contraption and wheeled me into the bathroom, (where they mortifyingly helped me pee, shower and clean up), I said to DH "Go ahead, laugh. Cause you are cleaning it up!" With that, I threw some towels at him in full knowledge that this story would haunt me all the days of my life!
And, to add to the horror of this story, a pic of me in the "contraption":

Oh Allison - you are one brave soul to share this with the world. :0) Cute photo of you.
I had natural childbirth as I didn't want drugs. I just needed the real drugs for the next 25 years with son (who was almost 9 pounds). Now I need the drugs to deal with sofa boy.
No matter how messed up you think this is Allison, you are still a beauty and a great sport. That is why we love ya!
ROFLMAO! LOVE it! I remember my legs being frozen too! They weighed like 100 pounds each! I didn't get to use this handy dandy contraption though...Brian had to basically carry me to the bathroom...GREAT pic ;)
Hi Allison,
I love your Secret Confessions and stop by often to see what's happening. I love the "keeping it real" side of you!
hugs
Risa:)
