Dutch Dare Challenge and an AmyR Sketch

Okay, I was totally clueless as to when my time as a Dutch Dare guest DT member would start (as in last Thursday...oh no!). For some reason, I thought it was this Thursday! Yeesh!


The challenge this week is to create a card for charity. Coincidentally, I had been putting together a donation for the NICU/cardiology unit at the Stollery in Edmonton (where Avery had her heart surgery). With the coming of Ave's half-birthday (as she gets older, we will be having a birthday party in June since who is going to come to a party on Christmas Day?) and the debate over the health care system (there seems to be another article everyday either promulgating or decrying the Canadian system in juxtaposition to the American one), I wanted to make sure to honor the doctors, nurses, intensivists, social workers, respiratory therapists, etc., who saved our baby girl.

I donated online this weekend but I wanted to send a card to our doctor (Ivan Rebeyka) as well as the staff in the NICU. Nothing I had on hand seemed appropriate so I have been searching for just the right image. I found this clipart and knew it was the one! I mean how cute is this and it conveys the intent perfectly! In addition, I used AmyR's sketch this week. Now the hard part...how do you thank someone for using their brilliance to give your baby life? I am gonna have to think on this one before I actually send it...
