Scrappy Prezzies for Father's Day

I made these layouts after interviewing the kids. I really tried to keep these as similar as possible because a) I am lazy and b) I didn't want either one of them to start up a competition over the number of embellishments, colors, etc. (Such are the joys of having more than one child!)



Rather than trying to read the layout, here are Tristan's answers:

I really love it when my dad has special time with me.
My dad likes to wear his work clothes.
My dad always tells me, “I love you”.
The best thing he does is driving.
It makes him happy when we are all being good.
My dad loves to relax by lying in his bed.
The best thing he cooks is pasta.
When my dad shops he likes to buy his car stuff.
My dad’s favorite household chore is doing the laundry.
My dad’s favorite TV show is cars.
If he could go on a trip, he would go to California.
I love my dad because he loves me.



And Charlotte's answers:

I really love it when my dad does the tramp.
My dad likes to wear my school shirt with the handprints.
My dad always tells me, “I love the handprint shirt”.
The best thing he does is his computer.
It makes him happy when I come with him.
My dad loves to relax by sleeping.
The best thing he cooks is pancakes.
When my dad shops he likes to buy chips.
My dad’s favorite household chore is sweeping.
My dad’s favorite TV show is “the cars”.
If he could go on a trip, he would go to Vancouver.
I love my dad because I like him so much…and he comes on the tramp.

A couple notes:

1. Best to interview the kids apart. Charlotte, even at three, was quick to answer whereas Tristan likes to ponder (it was like pulling teeth with him!). When I first started, I would ask a question and Tristan simply repeated whatever Charlotte said. After two questions, I saw where it was going so I told Tristan to go play a game (he had been begging to anyway). Charlotte and I finished up quickly and I didn't even attempt to ask Tristan again until a few days later (I wanted him to think for himself!).
2. Charlotte's answers include "on the tramp" more than once. Should you read them with a twisted mind (as I did), they are good for a laugh. She is however, referring to the trampoline.
