P.S. We watched Free Willy tonight. Tristan is so sensitive that he was worried about the orca the whole time and then cried when he made it out to the ocean. Sigh! He's so not my kid (being as cynical as I am). I love that he is tender-hearted but I had to reassure him throughout the whole movie that the orca would make it, that the boy would be okay (even though he kept asking me "Where is his mom?", "Why is he so sad?", "Why did he do those bad things?", etc.).
I sometimes worry that I am sending him out to a hard-edged world in which he will internalize his emotions and worries to the point where it is damaging. I was exposed to a lot as a kid. I do think it made me overly cynical and suspicious of everyone's motives in how they dealt with me. I do not wish that upon Tristan but I want him to be able to not take anyone or anything so seriously as to incur his own set of issues later on.
Gawd, over-analyze much? I just don't believe that all mothers think this way!

This is just too cute! And what a blessing to have such a gentle spirited little guy!
What a great card - Grandpa will love it. I've been enjoying Tristan's blog and his photos of sea life. Be thankful he has a tender heart, Allison. I have a grandson that is the same way.
Absolutely adorable card! I love that you created a spinner card!
It is a good thing that Tristan is so gentle and has a tender heart!
adorable. yeah, I still analyze too much. I always do the "at least he's not into drugs, a serial killer, etc." during my analysis, so at least Tristan isn't pulling wings off birds. In other words, he is a wonderful kid and you are an awesome mom....BTW, are you near Winnipeg?
Signed, incredibly ignorant about Canada...
what a SWEET card...the colors are fantabulous...
You're cynical? LOL I had to chuckle at Joan B's post...that woman cracks me up. Here's my take on it, I gotta boy like yours and I love that he is a kind hearted soul like your boy. You are a fab mom....overanalyze? I do it all the time..
Great card! I love to see children with interests so early. How fun that he has a blog. I definitely need to show it to my 8 year old daughter.
Tristan is who he is- some kids change more than others as they mature. Think back to this time when he is in his teen years!
WOW!! How stinkin' sweet is that?!! I love your fun spinner!!
That is too cute! And, this mom thinks like that! I have some blog candy posted today if you care to take a gander!
I love the spinner card! Perfect.
DH and I are also surprised that we have 2 sensitive kids, how did two sarcastic jerks make sensitive kids? (maybe 2 wrongs make 2 rights!)
Wow, I can tell grandpa is going to have a ball playing with this card...it's a card he won't be able to put down! Great job, I luv it!
As for Tristan he will be a well adjusted thoughtful man. Don't worry just let him be a kid & if he uses a path you don't like just nudge him gently back onto the right path. My son was sensitive & had to be by my side at all times but as he grew he found his own way & became an independant well adjusted kind man that I am very proud of in so many ways!
What an awesome spinner card, Allison!! I love your papers and that sentiment too!!
This card is fun too. The world needs "peacemakers" and those with gentle spirits too.
Tooooooooo cute!!
