A Day Late and Tales of Ave

Well, as promised yesterday, I am finally getting my act together and posting my Katie Caroler preview for the Little Paper Shop. I had made a couple cards, botched the coloring job I did and then ended up spilling tea on one that was close to being presentable. With that, I threw my hands up and ended up making a new one in the middle of the night on Sunday (AKA Monday morning).

Make sure to have a peek at the rest of the LPS gals do their magic with Katie Caroler!

Finally, you have two chances to win a Katie Caroler set of your own! One, go visit the Little Paper Shop blog and leave a comment and/or two, participate in the sketch challenge this week for another chance to win.

Avery News:

Today was a day. I had to take Ave to the doctor to review her blood work from her last hospital visit. It turned out that she had a high lymphocyte count which, in most cases, turns out to be an indication of mono. However, since she had no symptoms of such, and my doctor was duly concerned, I had to take Ave back to the hospital on the fly for another lab visit so they could re-test her blood (the lab at the Children's is so good with dealing with babies that we made the long trek). That also meant picking up C from preschool, dropping her off with Grandpa and then hiking it across town...so much for nap time! Cross your fingers for us that it comes back normal!

In other notes, way back in March, I took Ave to the hospital emergency because she had a cold. (Since she was only about eight weeks post-op, the protocol was that she had to go to the hospital should she develop a cold/flu.) At the time, I was told she did not have RSV. Today as we reviewed Avery's history, the paperwork stated that she did indeed have RSV back then. I was a little perturbed by this but thankful because, given her situation, it would have probably meant a one to two week course in the hospital under an oxygen tent. And heaven forbid if there were further complications...

This mothering bit wears me out! Once these kids are grown, I am going to just coast on my laurels till death...I will have earned it by that point...ha!

Sweet card. You aren't just a Mom - you are also a Mom that works. No wonder you're tired.

Awwwww poor Avery.....I will keep my fingers and toes crossed that her blood work comes back normal. And I hate to break it to you.....I don't think as mothers we ever get to take a break from mothering.....even when they are grown! LOL! (Or at least that's what my mother keeps tellin' me!) Ah well.....such is the plight of a loving mother huh? Hugs to you Allison!
