Quick Gift Card

So it's one of my BFFs (Andrea's) baby shower today. I made this gift card holder with this cute dollar stamp I picked up last week from M's. (I wish I had more time to create something for this occasion but work has been a killer this week!)

Positive note of the day: Was able to spend about an hour alone with my boy yesterday after school. We played UNO and, for the first time, he was able to both gracefully win and lose. I have spent at least three to four years playing different games with him where he would either be "In your face!" if he won or playing the martyr ("I never win. I don't think I'll ever play again."). In some ways, it would have been a lot easier to not play with him but I am glad we are at a stage where I could enjoy playing a game with him as an equal. (Although he still can't seem to hold eight cards in his hand without having them flop all over the table!)

Cute card Alison. I 'm glad you keep on playing games with your son, it does teach him about life, you win some, you lose some. Now I feel like singing a little Kenny Rogers here: "You gotta know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em, know when to walk away and know when to run!" LOL.

Great gift card holder Allison. Love the colors and the cute image... the sentiment is perfect. :o) I know what you mean playing a game with a little one... mine still hasn't learned to lose gracefully.

Just a comment about not having a hand big enough for all the cards... We have some of these: http://bit.ly/cardholders for the kids at my in-laws' house. When the family gets together, we like to play Liverpool Rummy. And with each round, the card count goes up by one starting with 6 cards and ending with 13. The kids love to play, but can't hold all those cards! This might help!
