Gotta Do Something!
Since I have been on a hunt (like literally all day!) for my Basic Grey chipboard letters (just so I can complete this oh-so-simple layout I was working on), I created this little box in the meantime. Using Debbie's tutorial (which I just happened upon in my blurfing rounds), I thought a little play with the Scor-Pal was in order.

Alberta Bound!
Just for grins, I created a stampTV group for Alberta stampers here. Come on over so we can meet and greet, k?

Kiernan-Bo-Biernan
This layout was a challenge. I kept putting things on and hating it more. I then stripped a lot of it off and I like it better...still not entirely sure though.
Anyhoo, this is moi with my nephew Kiernan in 2002. Yep, that is before kids...don't I look so less haggard? Ha!

Little Head and Big Head
Charlotte has 30 pounds on Avery...and, to no one's surprise, she is sans attire at one o'clock in the afternoon.

Goodbye from Canada!
One of C's preschool teachers is moving back to Ireland on rather short notice (her husband was laid off and the family has ninety days to leave the country...no work permit and we show you the door rather quickly [of course, when I worked in the States, had I lost my job, I had two weeks reprieve before I was kicked out!]). Thankfully, he has got a new job in Brussels however, I don't know if that means they will have another move thereafter.
She has mixed feelings about the whole thing so C and I readied a Canadiana prezzie. Given the theme, I had to pull out this High Hopes image! It's a giant one so it doesn't leave a lot of monkey room (even on a 5.5" square card)...
Ciao for now bellas!

Egg Card
I have seen these cards floating around the blogs so I thought I would try one (I just love my nesties more and more each day!). This one (probably for C) features LPS' new digi-stamp Bunny and the butterfly from {Puppy Love}. (And I finally used some Pink Passion...had to blow the dust off this one!)
Cheers!

Random on a Monday...
- I am on my third pair of pants already this morning. The first got a nice smear of maple syrup on them. On the second, I was blurfing and failed to recognize that my pumping bottles were overfilling (I make a lot of milk...especially in the morning). I am still pumping as I type this (one-handed, of course). Gawd, I could feed about four kids with the amount I make. Where is that octo-mom?
- Avery had her first morning of "quiet alertness". She sat in her buzzy chair calmly and listened to Barney sing while I made breakfast. Such a nice break from "screamy Avery".
- Once Avery awakes from this catnap she is having, she will be on my shoulder for the rest of the day. I took a pic yesterday...super cute.
LPS Monday - New Digi-Images
- These new gals featured in LPS' digi-images are super sweet! (And best of all, they are cheap!)
- This week, Jess posted a sketch challenge on the LPS blog. If you elect to join in (as I did), the keyword in LPSC04.
- I used Nana's Nursery (girl) for the DP (love this stuff), the LPS digi-image Jena Book and the LPS stamp set {A Dream}.

FEB09VSNO - Joy Fold in Bittersweet
At last, a card! Last night, I did complete a joy fold card (inspired by this weekend's FEB09VSNO challenge). Unfortunately, I have had one little girl hermetically sealed to my body and couldn't snap a pic of it until this AM.
Avery is in her sling all day and then she sleeps in my arms on the couch at night (so as to not disturb the rest of the household). Plus, she is eating like a madwoman. Sometimes, she drinks so fast she then yacks it up all over me the minute I go for a burp...milk pig!
I really like how this card turned out. Mmm...Bittersweet DP! Need I say more? Well, yeah. I used LPS sets {Inspired by Asia} and {A Dream}. The Inspired by Asia set is really different for me but I love how it turned out here. (I want to make my mom some more traditional cards rather than my typical cutesy ones so this one really plays nicely here!)

A New Blog Tool Find
So as I was perusing my regular blog haunts, I came upon a new tool to aid in your blogging pursuits: clipmarks.com. In a nutshell, Clipmarks allows you to clip an item from a website or blog to add to your own blogsite.
Once you have installed the application (available for Firefox or IE), here is an example of how you could use it...
Let's say you did Beate's weekend sketch and elected to include a copy on your post.

Let's say you did Beate's weekend sketch and elected to include a copy on your post.
- First, enable the application by clicking the Clipmarks icon.
- Second, navigate to Beate's site.
- Click the sketch image to clip it.
- Click the orange button (which states "Click here when done clipping") from the Clipmarks toolbar.
- When the drop-down menu displays, click Blog Clip. (Note: You can also e-mail, save or print the clip.)
- Elect whether to embed the code (my preference) or whether you would have the application post the clip for you.

What Happens When You Let a Little Girl Dress Herself!
Of course, my mom regales me with tales of my lack of color coordination at this same age. I guess her "fashion sense" comes by honestly!
Oh so tired...
My whiny post of the day...
Ave was up from 2:30 until 5:30 with a gas bubble. At 10 to 5, when she was totally inconsolable, we hung out in the tub. She rested on my lap with her head hanging over my arm which allowed her to rest her hands on her feet. She sat like that for twenty minutes breathing really deep until I decided the water was no longer warm enough for us to do that. Then she got really screamy while I put her clothes on. Finally, once she was swaddled, we sat on the couch and she fell asleep. Now I ask...who is gonna swaddle me so I can go to sleep all day? Oh right...I'm the momma.

Another Music Share
My mom kept singing this song to Ave so I have decided to keep it up. If you are a child of the 70s (or were a mom at that time), this may strike a chord.

An Ave Update
I wrote this all out for my mom and thought I would post it here since so many of you ask how Avery is coming along (thanks for that, BTW!):
From her cardiologist appointment yesterday:
Besides getting a "prescription" for prune juice (the formula that I have to add to her breast milk constipates her), it was all good news!
From her cardiologist appointment yesterday:
- She weighs 8 lbs. 15 oz. She still seems so little to me but they are happy with her progress. She is right at the 50th percentile on all her markers for her age group which is pretty darn good for a baby who has been through what she has...
- Still has a 3 mm hole in her heart where she had her ASD (the hole between her right and left atrium that was made with the balloon septostomy). It will do one of two things: a) close eventually or b) be so small by the time she is an adult that it will not prove to be an issue.
- Her EKG showed that she has moderate pulmonary stenosis (since the pulmonary arteries were stretched forward during the arterial switch operation, they have narrowed. As such, there is a reduction in the flow of blood to the lungs). When Dr. Patton (her follow-up cardiologist) assessed her with the other results, he believed that the EKG was posting high and that she only had mild pulmonary stenosis.

Paper Models
Gonna work on some paper models for the boy (since he has a day off today). Thought I would post them here for my archival purposes...

(P.S. Elena; Sergei may like some of these since there are Star Wars models available.)
