A Mother's Love...and No Time!

Today has been kinda hellacious. Ave slept for a total of twenty minutes between 11:30 AM and 5:30 PM. I didn't get much done save the essentials. The WJs keep needing to be "entertained"...I don't know if it is cabin fever (we keep getting big dumps of snow...spring, where are you?) but it is driving me bonkers. Sometimes I think I am just not doing enough but then I realize how many times I craft with them, take them for walks, let them look at pictures or play games on my computer, pull out board games, etc. and I just realize that they are some high maintenance kids! (The fact that there are three of them doesn't help!)

Anyway, I have had no time to craft today. I had a nap with Ave tonight (the only way she would go down). When I got up, my shoulder was killing me...at first thought, I believed that Ave's head had done it (since she is in arms when we nap) but then I remembered I brought the van door down on it this morning. Jeebus...I am one walking nightmare! I do have a quick page to share though...these are so easy, I could get out of hand real quick!

365 Cards Sketch Challenge

I followed Amy's lead again this Sunday and did the 365 Cards sketch.

blog it
I just kinda threw this together (not a lot more thought went into this than "hit the Basic Grey box"). Elected to rock n' roll the leaf image from Lovely as a Tree...fun and easy!

Another Quick Page!

I am really loving these quick pages! They are fun to make, take little effort and document some of those everyday moments in a snap!

Items used: Free digi quick page and free font Cocaine Sans.

ETA: I did not dress Charlotte this way...this is another one of her own "creations". I rue the day I bought that Tinkerbelle dress for her!

Invites for a Mad Scientist Party!

I have hired Mad Science for Tristan's birthday party. Without any stamps (and being extra lazy), I used a clip art image to throw these together.

First of Nine Altered Canvases

Or is it canvi? Makes no matter...

Anyhoo, I am making a series of nine canvases for my MIL that I will group together (approx. 3" apart on each side) to make some scrappy wall art for her kitchen. Since her kitchen is in various coffee shades, I elected to go with sepia photos and a palate of different brown paints, papers (Basic Grey's Blush and Bittersweet) and embellies. I also added the chipboard (Mellow by Basic Grey) which I sprayed with glimmer mist (coffee shop).

The first one is of Ave. Hopefully you won't be bored to tears by the time they are all done! I can't wait to see what they will look like mounted on the wall.

I will have to take a second look at the embellies once they are all together. I don't want it to be much nor too little...one does have to know when to stop adding stuff! And look, I used my French Script stamp - that never happens!

P.S. Took Ave to public health nurse today for her two-month vaccinations (even though she is three months, they are scheduling her as if she was two given her early arrival and subsequent surgery). She was exactly 10 lbs. (yay!) which means she gained 6 oz. this past week (much better than the 6 oz. over the previous three weeks). The nurse was quite happy with her progress and says she is doing fabulous overall (and is finally in the 30th percentile which makes me happy...I need my kids beef-noodle hearty!).

WJ ALERT:

WJs had to last an hour in the office so you know what that means...yep, as the nurse was prepping Avery's vaccinations, Tristan takes to riding Charlotte like a pony...WTH?!? And me, I am so oblivious since we are talking about Avery (esp. the fact that she has little fat on her legs so the needles are going to really hurt), I am calming her down (since she has no clothes on and is P.O.'d) and am so used to my children behaving like this, that it takes me a moment to clue in on what they are doing. The nurse gives them coloring books and crayons...I gave them a dose of screamy mommy on the ride home!

Random Act of Kindness

OMG...isn't this card just great? Love what Rita did here...I just wish it fit Avery! Ha!

A Quick Page of Avery

I was playing with Shabby Princess' December desktop and made a quick page of Avery. Still getting my "learn on" so it is a work in progress...

Easy-Bo-Breezy!

Note: This post title will only make sense to those of you subject to the kids' show Bo-On-The-Go.

This card is a super-easy one I made yesterday (I was just farting around with ribbon and decided to add lots here!).

BTW, Tristan has an ear infection, Charlotte has some sorta weird viral skin rash (no cure...she just has to build up her antibodies to fight it off) and Ave's hands and feet are blue and chilly today. See why my card was super-easy?!?

My fav comic...

Get Fuzzy

A Sketch, A Challenge and Two Scoops Rice Designs is Open!

Although more than a week behind the times, I thought I would do Taylored Expressions Cupcake Challenge #59.
I used a sweet stamp from Two Scoops Rice Designs (the store is now open!) which I coupled with a sentiment from Hanna Stamps (these just seemed meant for each other!).

BTW, I am going to send this to Jen for her blogoversary challenge since my grandfather too suffered from Alzheimer's. She is giving away a big prize (but there's motivation a plenty to send her a card even without that incentive!).

LPS Monday - Another One of Jess' Challenges!

Today's challenge on the LPS blog was to do a monochromatic card. Along with that scary challenge (for me anyway), I tried to incorporate this week's SCS sketch.

I have to tell you that I just hate multiple layers laid out like this...I never seem to get my cuts right nor do I ever get them as straight as they should be. I ended up flipping the sketch and using LPS' {Jungle Fun}. That said, here's the card...

If you want to play along, here is the link to the challenge post!

P.S. I included some friendship pins on this card...do you remember these? I challenge all of you who have some seed beads and safety pins kicking around in your stash to include them on a card (or maybe just add them to your shoes...whatevah)...

Stamper's Dream Dreamy Challenge

For tonight's card, I played along with Michelle's Stamper's Dream Dreamy Challenge. For this challenge, you were supposed to CASE one of her team's cards. I found this one in the gallery but don't know who did it!

I love these Paper Inspirations stamps but never pull them out! I am glad I had this card to inspire me!

Yes, I Scrapped Again...

Since I did a Charlotte layout yesterday, Tristan wanted one of him today. Being the extra terrific mom I am, I even did it about a subject close to his heart - airplanes. (We just took out ten huge airplane books out for March break...I will be schooled by the time he goes back!)

This captures his (and Charlotte's) first plane ride on yes, you guessed it, an Air Canada A-320 (being the engineer-type he is, we had to go find a picture off the net and make sure we labelled it too!).

BTW, I think I am turning my kids into megalomaniacs. They insist that we constantly pull out their scrapbooks to, as Charlotte puts it, "look at me"!

Not always one for sharing...

a fav card but I thought Tobi's card featuring Upsy Daisy was just brill!

Mademoiselle Butterfly

I elected to do a layout of C inspired by Libby's "From Courtney's Closet #35" inspiration challenge. I loved this DP from DCWV when I first saw it...isn't C so cute here? (She is about six months old in this picture.) Love how the butterflies in her hat matched the butterflies in the paper and the stickers I found at the dollar store!

Shh! The sentiment is from an upcoming LPS set...I just couldn't resist using this sentiment esp. with its pretty flourish!

Thanks to...

...Amy, I tripped upon this fun sketch. I love the simplicity of it since you can show off the pretty DP (in this case, Amy Butler from K and Co.).

Stamp set used: LPS' Bound By The Heart.

Looking for Mushroom Sentiments...

Hey there! I am looking for mushroom sentiments to use with my new stamps. I have a few here but if you have any pun ones, I'd love to hear 'em!
  • Thanks for working your magic! (Magic mushrooms...hee hee.)
  • Enjoy your trip! (Ditto)
  • You’re growing on me…
  • Happy Birthday Fungi!
  • Around you, I am all mush!
  • Shall we keep you in the dark and feed you manure?

With Love From the Shrooms...

These mushroom stamps from Two Scoops Rice Design are so cute! I lined them up to look like the kids (look how small that little Avery mushroom is!). The sentiment I stamped with my Snap Stamps (boy, I do need to pull these out more often!).

P.S. Speaking of small Avery, she is still only nine pounds, ten ounces. She has only added six ounces in the last three weeks! At almost three months, she just looks so tiny to me!

...this neat way she stores her brads. I may get my kids to do this for me next week as a timesucker project during their spring break...ha!

Dumb Me!

I totally forgot to mention that Lori from Inkingly Yours... is LPS' guest designer this month! Why not visit her and the rest of the gals too!

LPS Release Day!

Today Julia releases Bound By The Heart and Blessings from the Little Paper Shop. Here's one of the many mom cards I am gonna make with this Bound by the Heart Set.

After watching this blog since its inception, I finally got around to using one of the many sketches! I chose to use Sketch 196 since I liked the idea of using a sentiment as the focus of this tent topper.
