LPS Monday: Another Sketch Challenge

It's another LPS Monday! And it's time for a sketch again. I elected to use chipboard instead of the bracket (just because I couldn't get mine to look at all right with this image!). Speaking of the image, it's LPS' {Topiary} (such a versatile set and at 8 bucks, a steal, IMHO). I paired it up with Stella Ruby DP from yes, you guessed it, Basic Grey.

Now, you know the deal. Hop on over to the LPS blog to see the creations of my fellow DT members and then play along with us (LPS stamps are not required) to get in on the weekly giveaway!

Positive Note of the Day: Stopped using my credit card and have been just using cash/Interac. I don't have any problem with debt but it is nice to know moment by moment where my cash is!

Some super fab raks:
  • From Deb, a watercolored bloom in razzleberry...yum!

  • A single layer card from Juanita totally worth CASing! (Had to steal the image from her blog since it has vanished from my office. I even was going to show Paula this card [since she is trying her hand at simple cards] and instead merely had to describe it to her...how lame is that!?!)

Ladybug Page

I bought some more of these painted wooden shapes from Michael's (99 cents each!). I find that they are a great embelly that easily defines a page's subject. Although this page has nothing to do with ladybugs, I thought Charlotte's nightgown was enough of a focal.

The poem in the corner reads:

Ladybugs all dressed in red
Strolling through the flowerbed.
If I were tiny just like you
I'd creep among the flowers too!

Positive note of the day: Spent the night with my baby girl (who is not sleeping). Overall, it was very tiring but I can find the sweetness in the moment since she is smiley when she wakes up (no matter how little sleep she gets!).

First Motivet Card

This is such a super cute image (Doraline with Sunflower). Now that I have all my Copics, I so want to go to a class to learn shading techniques to improve my coloring (the DT members on Motivet's blog do such a good job with theirs!). I will file that on my "to-do" list right after "ski trip through hell". Argh...no time!

Positive note of the day: Came up with an idea for a book. I have been deliberating for many a year on writing non-fiction on any variety of ideas. I think I may have finally centered on one that fits me best. However, the fact that I am even considering a project such as that may at last find me a one-way ticket to the loony bin!

So stealing this idea!

A tri-shutter with pictures? A quick and easy way to share with all the frills of a mini-book...love it!

Charlotte's Web

I tripped across this challenge blog titled Kiddie Lit. The challenge for this month is Charlotte's Web so you know I had to participate!

I like this idea but the implementation...whoa! I have used this stitching technique before but had to re-find the video since the website is not available (is it down permanently now? Hmm...). Here's a copy of the template she speaks of in the video too (another "re-find"). I wanted to incorporate the spider without making it creepy. I liked doing it up in the bling but I am not too sure about the results. Anyway, enough fussing...I'm outie!

Positive note of the day: Kids got to play lots with their friends today on the last day of summer va-cay. They were worn out! T and I went for a drive tonight (out in the convertible with the top down...we went to Petland [woo hoo!]). Even though he drives me nuts (with the phrase "What are we going to do now?"), I will miss him when he is gone all day now that he is in grade one!

SC243 - Pure Innocence Digi-Stamps

Got these super-sweet IRAKs from Teri (we share the same taste in cutesy stamps!). Thought I better do some enabling here...they are digi-stamps from Heather Ellis' Etsy store! Super cute, n'est pas?

Positive note of the day: Eating banana bread...yum! And here is one of the most authentic "Ave and Mommy" pics. She's drooling and naked (her fav way to be) and I have my hair pulled back in a clip and am way too smiley (my pictures are always super smiley or scary frown...no middle ground!). (And yes, I took this picture myself...ha!)

Am I on your sidebar?

If yes, can you comment here so I can return the favor? Thanks!

Wowsers...lots of layers!

I elected to try out this sketch from last week's Mojo Monday 100 celebration. Even with all those layers, I still attempted it! Love this color palette! And lookie! I used a background stamp. I know, huh?

P.S. Want to thank Teri again for this super-cute stamp from Dandelion Designs. If you are into cutie stamps like me, do not visit this site if you fear for your wallet!

P.P.S. I am so grooving on using white CS as a layer...why don't I do that more often? Plus, with a little bugging, it can pop off the page. Now that's a "me likey"!

Positive note of the day: Ave was sick today but she did finally get some sleep (I had to hold her most of the day). Since she was so high maintenance, the kids went to their grandparents (thank gawd for them!). I don't think I would have even got them lunch till mid-afternoon thanks to Ave. She's so much happier now with some sleep under her belt!

LPS Monday - A Color Challenge

I liked this LPS Monday challenge but it still took forevah to finish this card! Aw shucks...I am not good at cranking them out (some of my fellow PSFs astound me with their production!). Our LPS challenge was to use the following colors which I coupled with the 2S4Y sketch from last week. (LPS stamp used: {Little Friend}.)

Here's the dilio! Go check out the LPS blog for today's challenge, the prize up for grabs and what the other girls did to tackle this one!

Positive note of the day: Got all the laundry done. I know...pathetic. But I spent much of the day working on power distribution which is sooooooooo boring!
