Tea Cup Card Invite

Well, I may be (no, I am) certifiable but I am having eleven girls here Friday afternoon for a tea party with Charlotte. She didn't have a birthday party and ever since then, she has been telling her friends that they will be invited to her next birthday party. Since it will be a long wait until December 1st rolls around again, and Charlotte will not know many of her preschool friends at that point (since they will disperse to various kindergartens), I thought I would try to do something memorable for her.

I made this tea cup card with my silhouette and MS punch. I originally was going to put an image on it but C said she just wanted flowers. (And that is a whole lot easier too!) Should you want the tea cup card GSD file, click here.

ETA: Just as an FYI, the inner sentiment states: "Wear a pretty dress and some fancy pearls because we are having a tea party just for the girls!".

Well, wish me luck. I may indeed need a valium or something once the afternoon is over. Now, back to party planning (I gotta catch up after spending all last night at the urgent care clinic)!

Positive note of the day: C and the nanny made some cupcakes. It was the first time my nanny had made cupcakes (WTH?) but they turned out perfect. I also instructed her on how to make jumbo paper rosettes for the walls so that looks super cute. Now to make sure our craft (silk flower barrettes) turns out and is easy enough for a four year old to do without too much help!

Good luck with the tea party. I'm sure the girls are going to enjoy it. Super cute teacup invite too! I don't know what a GSD file is so I don't think I can download it so I'll just admire yours!

Sweet, sweet, sweet. And I still say - you are Super Mom. You are so caring about your kids. What a great thing to do for Charlotte. Those little girls will love it.

Oh I remember the days of the extraordinary "parties" for my daughter. They were frantic and hectic but provided so many good memories. I'm sure the girls will have fun. I remember going to tea to a neighbors with my grandma - so special. Your card is wonderful and I will use the template. There have been times when I've wanted to have a tea party of my own - it's a dying thing - china cups and such. Have a great day.

Certifiable - maybe - but what a fun mommy you are! I love your invite text - just perfect. Will GSD files work with my Cricut? I hope you will take lots of pix and share them with us - I'm trying to imagine all those sweet little girls all dressed up for tea - too cute! ~chris

Tooooooooooo cute, Allison! I love this tea-cuppie! This confirms my suspicion: I need a Silhouette ... desperately!

And what a horrible, ooops, I mean wonderful, idea to have 11 little girls over for a fancy tea party! I would suggest you prepare a pitcher of frosty Valium & Vodka martinis in advance of the big event. Might I ask who's making the cucumber and watercress finger sandwiches?

Your Nanny's holding out on cupcake-making?!? What?!?! Very bad form! It's a good thing you caught her in time ... a very bad precedent indeed. Imagine a world where nannies refused to bake cuppies for their charges!

To redeem herself, I hope she has some uber-cool papercraftin' wall projects to bring to the table ... just sayin' ...

LOLOL!

Good Luck with the party. It will be fun and exhausting. We had a tea party last fall for my daughters 6th bday. It was crazy and I swore never to do it again. I bought little tea cups at the local good will and we used them to drink our tea - when done I washed them up and sent one home with each girl.
