What I learned this week: It might be hard to confess my weight on a Monday after all the distractions of the weekend. Family outings, celebrations and just a lack of a schedule makes it hard to keep to a routine. Nonetheless, lots of furniture moving and cleaning can sure make up for that extra hamburger (homemade though) I downed! My muscles hurt more this morning than after some of my boot camp classes.
Weigh-in: 162 lbs. Three pounds lost.
Motivation for upcoming week: Add one extra aerobics class during the week (although not today since I had to get a crown and I think all the bouncing would be more than I can bear!).
ETA: Quote from an article at the NYT: "The body establishes its optimal weight early on, perhaps even before birth, and defends it vigorously through adulthood. As a result, weight control is difficult for most of us. And obesity, the terrible new epidemic of the developed world, is almost impossible to cure." Now ain't that depressing?
Another interesting tool: The Hunger Scale. (P.S. I think I could keep eating all the time!)

girl, 3 lbs is good for a week! Don't be so hard on yourself and be realistic, you aren't going to drop 20 lbs in a week and you will have good days/bad days. You just start all over the next day with your goal in mind.

Way to go!! Proud of you. Keep on and don't give up. Regarding that quote - I do not like it when there are generalizations printed like that. Like everything else - life is made up of choices. I think what choices we make bears more truth about obesity than anything. And I'm one of the obese ones, trying to make better choices. My weigh in day is Wednesday. I think you did tremendous this week. I'd be glad to lose one pound a week. In 30 weeks I'd be able to reach my goal.

I wanted to let you know,if you want a good snack,have a plain rice cake (40 cal) with a tblsp of peanut butter,I eat that when i crave sugar!

Whooo Hooo!!! Crown? I am soooo blonde sometimes...it wasn't until I read one of the other comments that I realized you are off to the dentist. Getting a fancy bejeweled crown would have been so much more fun :>)
