Charlotte's Fifth Birthday Invite!

For Charlotte's fifth birthday, we are going with a "Barbie Fashion Fairytale" theme. Charlotte may like Barbie but she loves fashion. Dresses, purses, necklaces, nail polish, etc...she is the girly-girl I never was. We are telling all the girls to come in fancy dresses since Charlotte wants to have a fashion show on the catwalk (read some tables that I will convert into something resembling a catwalk!). We will then do toilet paper dresses (like at a wedding shower) and then do a craft (either a t-shirt with glitter and puffy paint or a foam tiara with jewels [whichever is cheaper at Michael's...ha!]).

To create her invitation (just a flat), I used the PDF from the coloring pages from the Barbie Fashion Fairytale website. Since I have Adobe Illustrator, I was able to manipulate the drawing to fit the 4" by 5.25" cardstock layer (with the addition of the invite welcome on the front). On the back, I added Barbie (with an opacity of 30% so she would be merely part of the background) and then all the deets. I punched the edge and Charlotte was in charge of the bling!

Positive note of the day: We were able to get an appointment right away to get Avery fitted for her right leg brace after meeting with her physiotherapist. Her physiotherapist was alarmed at how much she was on her tippy-toes and insisted we get the brace right away to break her of the habit. Thankfully Paula is coming over with her boys for a playdate on Friday (the kids have a four-day weekend this week!) while I take Ave. (Hmm...now that I think about it, it is probably a real good idea not to bring the two WJs. Since Ave doesn't like anyone touching her, I don't know how pleased she is going to be once they start doing the measurements for the brace!).

A year ago today: A bit of a "meh" sympathy card...I would have done more with it if I would re-create it now.

I have always had issues in setting up a verified phone number with my Craigslist account. I have finally found a service that solves this problem.
They sell Craigslist Phone Verified Accounts at the cheapest prices I have ever seen. My experience with them has been exceptional and I highly recommend their service!
