The kids had the last two days off. Yesterday they were at Grandma's. Today they came home early for a playdate with Paula and the cousins while I took Avery for her brace fitting. We are getting her one like this on her right leg (with a hinge so she will be able to bend her ankle). She got to pick out the plastic decoration so she went with pink and purple butterflies. It will be ready for us on next Thursday and then the fun will begin!
I am worried though how she will take to it. Avery has become very stubborn and if she doesn't want to do something, she ain't doing it! She also got some new fun shoes (these are for any kid but were designed with the aid of orthotist). The only "interesting" characteristic about these is they have a "squeaker". It does encourage the child to plant their foot entirely to hear the squeak (so it makes sense but thankfully, they are removable!).
Feeling a little creatively stumped...I need some inspiration esp. in creating some fun holiday items to get my juices flowing. If you have any fun holiday sites or blogs you have found, I would love to hear about it. Tristan loves Christmas so he talked me into putting up the tree today (I know, I know!). He does this every year and I am always suckered into placating him. He wants to go out tomorrow and find a train for the tree since he has seen them in the flyers (another addiction for the two older WJs as Christmas nears).
Lastly, I leave you with some pics of the boys (Tristan and his cousins Kiernan and Parry) playing some street hockey. Parry is three and loves being a "big boy". Kiernan is very cerebral so I was impressed he was out there and trying (even without a jacket). T loves sucking anyone into a game of hockey no matter their age or skill level (just so long as he gets some time playing his favorite sport)!

Glad to see she'll be getting some "boots" too (that's what we call Jack's to him so they seem more fun - and he can sortof say that!!) What brand are the shoes? They sound cool! We got Converse all stars (low tops) since they tend to open wide enough to fit over teh braces. They have Dr. Suess 1 fish 2 fish ones now! TOTALLY adorable!
As for Christmas Inspiration, I was just on Waltzingmouse stamps site and boy am I inspired (and wanting to spend about 100 pounds!!) ah well! Good luck!!
Good luck with Ave and the brace and BTW love those shoes.
