December PTI Hop

Okay, so I should have been really tending to my kids but instead I made this card and left them to DH for an hour. It shouldn't have taken me long but my nesties were giving me trouble. If you have any advice on how to ensure I can get my lacey squares to cut (the smallest two just won't do it! Not even close!), I would love you forever!

I had to participate in the December PTI blog hop since there is always so much goodness there! The focus was Christmas scraps. To that end, I used some of my Making Memories Noel paper (sniff...I will use this all up once I make my next layout!) and some DP from three Christmases ago (I don't even know the manufacturer anymore!)...talk about an old scrap! I punched the edge, added a simple sentiment and all that pretty bling!

BTW, I used the layout from the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge blog too...I have been meaning to do one of these forever so I am glad I finally did!

Gorgeous card! I love the scalloped circle and I can see why you don't want to part with that paper, it's beautiful. Can't be of any help with the lacey squares, I don't have those, sorry.

Not sure if this will help, Allison, but I have read that if you re-run the dies thru, turning them 1/4 turn first, then they may cut better. Your card is really, really nice, BTW.

Allison, this is soooo pretty! I love how you did the PP on PP with the nestie. As for tips...hmmmm, try running it thru with a piece of scrap paper on top of the plates to make the fit tighter?

Very pretty card. Nice mix of papers. When I have trouble getting a die to completely cut through cardstock, I'll add an extra sheet of cardstock or two over the die to get more pressure on it. Or -- if that doesn't work -- I've found that sometimes if I change to a new bottom B plate that it helps. (I use a Cuttlebug.) Good luck!
