Blue Monday...
One of the stamps I picked up on my sojourn to Scrappin' Great Deals was Monday by the Greeting Farm. I loosely followed the Mojo Monday sketch with this mix of Olivia DP from Basic Grey.

LPS Monday - Color Challenge
This is another LPS Monday pre-post since I know I will not be creating today (our plane is scheduled in at ten PM Sunday night and I know it will be "fun-filled"...heh heh).So we have another color challenge today of kraft, orange and olive...some of my fav colors!
Should you want to play along with our challenge this week, hit up the LPS blog (remember, there is always a prize given to a random participant!).Sunday, August 29, 2010

Grandma's Mini-Book
Okay, this was not a great project. I have been playing with it for over a month and I just don't like it. However, since I wanted my mom to have a mini-book, this will have to do. I think I will buy her a scrapbook and just make pages in the future...way less of a commitment esp. when you are hating it the whole way through!
Early Saturday Morning Sketches
In my hotel room, too early in the morning, listening to Tristan grind his teeth (yikes! it's like listening to fingernails on a chalkboard) and Avery grumbling every couple minutes or so. Went to Marineland yesterday so I was too busy getting splashed by this guy to make it here (and Avery freaked out when it happened...it ain't just a couple of drops...it's a full-on tsunami when he comes your way!).

Tristan's First Visit with Santa
A creation I made since I saw the paper, saw the photo and said "Hey, lets see how those look together". That's creativity in a messy work space!

A Daddy and T Page
How I love this page esp. with the Max and Whiskers here! It remembers a night when Tristan was oh so young (and oh a challenge!)...here's the journaling:
I am gonna start digging through my early kid pics more...I feel like T got short-changed since I waited until the last year or so to start scrapping!

Feeling a Little Ruff?
This is all Basic Grey Max and Whiskers (including the sticker focal). I created the sentiment on my computer...funny enough, I had some dog-related stamps but nothing with this particular theme. I distressed the edges to emphasize the "ruff-ness" too!
Note: I started with Tracy's sketch but I went way off the rails...not too odd for me!

Little Paper Shop Monday
I am on vay-cay this week in Ontario with all the relatives. Today's LPS Monday challenge is a color one of cocoa, light blue and red. I had to walk around this one a while to figure out what I would create but it came together pretty quick with relatively few mistakes once I had the idea!

Dino-mite!
Why can't I put "Dino-mite" as the post title here without thinking of J.J. on Good Times? For you young'ins, here's the cultural reference...
This page is all about Tristan's latest love...dinosaurs. Can you believe this is Christmas DP? (Yeah, I guess you could!) Nonetheless, I totally thought it worked with the colors of the dino (from MME) and the colors in Tristan's shirt.

SSS and Oliver Paper
I used Karen's SSS with my Oliver paper from Basic Grey to make this flowery card pop with a little drama. Although this paper is masculine, I really like how it works in combination with this image from PTI.P.S. If you didn't know this already, although I never put a manufacturer's list with my cards (I am soooooooooo lazy), should you ever want to know the stamp company I have used, just look in the labels section at the end of my post.
P.P.S. Want a visual affirmation of my love of Basic Grey? Click here to see all the paper I have ordered from them over the years! And I so want the four sets coming out in the next quarter. BTW, did you see the Sizzix/Basic Grey embossing folders they having coming out? I already pre-ordered some from Scrappin' Great Deals (my online connection)...this could be another scary addiction!

Bumped! Blinkie and a Late Confession!
Hey everyone!
After a couple of requests, I created a blinkie that links right up to the Sketch Designs offered daily here at this bloggity-blog (isn't it cute? I got it to animate too! Woo hoo!).
Should you want to add it to your sidebar or signature, here's the code:
<a href="http://stampinwhenican.blogspot.com/search/label/Sketch%20Designs"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_AV7rYTbAdUs/TGxD50jik1I/AAAAAAAAY54/0DfMClvpCrI/Blinkie.gif" /></a>
BTW, I never confessed my weight this week...it is 157.2. That is almost eight pounds. I fear for next week though when I am on vacation!
ETA: I created a smaller blinkie for those of you with truncated sidebars. Here it is:

Bittersweet Mouse w/ Flowers
This image is an IRAK I colored forevah ago (I don't know which company it's from!). Once I saw the sketch from SRM Stickers, I thought it was about time I put it to use (esp. since I can throw this stuff together for a bunch of pre-posts!). Loving my chocolate buttons from PTI...the one color I have not been able to track down at the dollar store! Ha!

SCS SC294
I bought this Melissa Frances Kitschy Kitchen DP from my LSS a few weeks back and finally put it to use with this week's SCS SC! It is a very muted palette (the whole pad looks like a cup of tea stained it...in my case, I do that sometimes but not on purpose!) so I found it a little challenging but I so need to break out a bit more!
Positive note of the day: My fridge got fixed (finally!) after six weeks of "camping".

The Screaming What?
When Tristan was three, he was quite enamoured of the movie "Cars". One of the DVD extras that the kids (particularly Charlotte) liked to watch was called "Mater and the Ghostlight". The story (told by the Sheriff) is about a mysterious blue light that haunts Mater.
The kids quote from the movie all the time...one of the last lines "The Screaming What?" is a particular fav. Since I had this picture (torn from a previous scrap page that I hated) kicking around (where T is decked out in Mater gear), I made this scrap page (with paper picked out by T on a Michael's run from months ago) to capture that memory.
Positive note of the day: Don't feel real ambitious this week about creating. It is doubtful that I will have a bunch of pre-posts ready to go like some of you. Nonetheless, it sure will be fun to get away and reconnect with the kids before school starts!

LPS Release Day - Fabulous Phrases Again!
Being the brill gal I am (totally tongue in cheek since lately I have been particularly brain-dead!), I made this card with Little Paper Shop's Fabulous Phrases (released today!) for our previews. Then once it was done and posted, I realized I didn't follow the sewing challenge. Not wanting to rip apart this one to make it fit the challenge, I just made another (seen here yesterday). This one is super blingy and makes use of Basic Grey's Sugar Rush.
Positive note of the day: It's just me and the kids until Wednesday midnight since Brad is on a business trip. Here's hoping we make it through...tonight went well (knock on wood!).
