SC328 - Fairy in Silhouette

I was lucky enough to win a challenge and was able to purchase some digi stamps from Stitchy Bears. One of the ones I chose was this garden fairy silhouette. I really did not feel like coloring but I did want to play along with tonight's sketch challenge so I printed this off on a piece of Basic Grey Wander DP. The rest of the paper is Crate Paper's Portrait.

Positive note of the day: Today was a whirlwind of a day. It started out kinda blah. I was feeling a bit defeated since my lunch interview turned into a phone call where I was told that I had a great background but they weren't really seeking out anyone for another three to six months. Nuts.

I then got myself dolled up and went downtown for my two o'clock. Met with a recruiter who I really liked and she agreed to put my resume forward to the hiring manager. It is in the field of mine engineering and the task is to write government proposals (I know...you're jealous). As dry as it might be, it would be a good opportunity to learn more about the oil and gas field (as well as try on another type of writing). It is probably a stretch since Calgary's market seems to have its niches for technical writers (and unfortunately, there isn't a big medical imaging market here!) but maybe someone can look past that.

My last interview was at four. I met with the hiring manager for an hour and fifteen minutes. Really had to interpret the job on the fly but I impressed him enough for a second interview (I finally feel like I have my confidence down so that I don't blather as much as I used to). This job is in instructional design and IT software so it might be more readily a fit.

After all that, got home, had dinner, cleaned up and then met with a financial services guy. I am wiped (esp. since I spent all day in three inch heels! Once I get a job, maybe I will turn into the slovenly tech writer holed up in some corner just typing away...ha!).

Silhouettes are classics and this one is no exception ... nice idea to print it onto DP as the background.

"Stuff" happens for a reason so maybe there is going to be an even better offer coming your way. (OMG...now I sound like a fortune cookie!)
